The first thing to do is visit
Lake Merritt. It offers a significant draw for residents and tourists alike. The only saltwater lake that's naturally occurring, this area also acts as a wildlife refuge. It's an ideal spot for nature walks or picnics and spans three miles along the shoreline.

Gardens at Lake Merritt are a beauty to behold in itself. It's also the site of the Autumn Lights Festival. The tranquil destination spans seven acres, giving you ample time to explore and take in all the beauty around you.

Oakland California Temple is one of the city's largest church structures. Even if you don't plan on attending, the site is well-favored in town thanks to its beautiful landscape design, on-site water fountain, and lit-up trees and pathways that make the entire place picturesque.
