With the city’s walkability and growing transit system, Dublin offers plenty of opportunities to get around. The busy city is ever-growing, with new shops and restaurants popping up frequently. The increased business and foot traffic makes it one of the bigger cities in the East Bay area, and its popularity makes it a top living destination in California.
Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping
Dublin is home to countless fine dining establishments. Many well-rated facilities fill the area, including Burma! Burma! — a Burmese restaurant that offers imported wines, tofu choices, salads, and seafood. You can also give KoJa Kitchen a try when you are in the mood for Asian cuisine.
Chaat Bhavan provides Indian cuisine, though it also has its share of vegetarian selections. You can also enjoy a collection of exotic refreshments, such as sweet lassi, desi milk coffee, badam milk, or chaas.
The Banana Garden is another favored eating establishment in Dublin. This Malaysian restaurant offers chicken or beef satay, mango salad, pad thai, and many other popular dishes.
Persimmon Place and Hacienda Crossings make up just a portion of the shopping choices in town. Visit either of these shopping centers and access numerous shops and boutiques to discover the newest trendy pieces to add to your wardrobe. A multiplex theater is also located inside Hacienda, along with an IMAX screen.
Things to Do
Dublin prides itself on its abundance of community offerings and annual events that residents and tourists can attend. Everyone comes together at things like the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade. Though it starts with just a parade, an entire festival spans from the event to the days after. It's located at the Civic Center.
The Spring Eggstravaganza combines a springtime celebration with an Easter egg hunt, while the Tree Lighting and Breakfast with Santa event draws in crowds in December. The Picnic Flix movie series fills the spring and summer months, while Harvest Fair is enjoyed in the fall.
Dublin always has a show to put on or an assortment of activities for crowds to enjoy. Whether you simply want to enjoy a holiday-specific event or prefer a unique offering like Ghosts of Dublin at the Historic Cemetery, the city has something for everyone to keep busy at various times throughout the year.
Even without an event, you can still find plenty to do in town. Enjoy outdoor recreation at the various parks nearby, including Donlon Point and its various walking and hiking trails. Dublin Hills Regional Park is within this area, which also offers biking and horseback riding opportunities. Don Biddle Park Community Garden is also a beautiful sight that allows every household to purchase a parcel and do their own gardening on-site.
